Care in the Community Summer 2024

As always it is an absolute joy to see the positive impact Alexandra Park children are having in our local community. However, I would like to start with our office team who have been nominated by a number of parents for their care and dedication. Well done Peter, Jo and Rachel!

The next Care in the Community Champions actually helped at our school in the holiday and came in with their parents to help develop our school sensory garden. A huge well done and thank you to Kody Aminah & Sumaya and their families.

Vihan, in R Peake, is an around champion who has been picking up litter; helping charities and the homeless and caring for wildlife!

Jack, in R Peake, who is a member of the local squirrels group and through this he volunteers at the local care home to help spread a bit of happiness with the residents. He has done lots of different things from playing board games to arts and crafts and baking. He also goes on a litter pick with the group once a month in the local area.

Elsie, in 1 Rashford, is helping her dad raise money for a defibrillator for Northgate Road with a charity day at the pub she lives at. In March Elsie raised £400 (latest total) for Cancer by skipping 100 times a day for a month. For this charity day she is letting people throw water balloons at her for a donation.

Luna, in 1 Rashford, Luna continues to support some of her mum’s work helping the elderly.

Martha, in 1 Rashford, has created, with the help of local residents, the largest recycled bottle cap mural in the UK.

Charlie, Author and Alice have all grown over 40 sunflowers recently and handed them to neighbours and family members

Robyn was selected to be the 1st group of 'Young Ambassadors' for a UK Charity event she attended in Birmingham

When Robyn receive this award the charity said:

"Robyn has been selected to be part of our first cohort. We wanted to recognise the energy and support she had brought to the community in the last few years by offering her a special role. This is an amazing opportunity for her to get involved in our events, tell her story and inspire others."

Riley Jones, from 2 Zephaniah, was nominated for the care she shows to other children when she is at home. I would also like to add that she is exactly the same in school!  Her classmates love the Gratitude Jar she made and brought in for everyone!

Harry, form 3 Attenborough is rightly nominated as he has set himself the goal of curing caner when he is older! Even better, he has already started working on tis goal and is the class science expert!

Leah and Alexandra, from 3 Attenborough, are a great team in and out of school. They have been picking up litter and I’d like to add how polite and friendly they both always are

Olivia, from 6 Sinfield, has been helping out at the Park runs. These are great events which can only happen with the help of volunteers like Olivia

Chloe, from 6 Mandela, who along with her dad help a girl who has having a fit, supporting her until an ambulance came.

Luca, from 6 Mandela, volunteered at The Etihad Stadium collecting money for a charity very close to his family’s hearts, called The Pulmonary Fibrosis Trust.  Luca's Grandad has Pulmonary Fibrosis, so Luca couldn't wait to go to City to raise money and awareness for one of his favourite people at one of his favourite places! He spent hours there and helped to raise over a thousand pounds. We are very proud of him!
