Parliament feedback and actions
Alexandra Park Parliament Update – Autumn Term
During our Autumn 2 Alexandra Park Parliament meeting, representatives from each council met with Mr. Brooke to share suggestions based on their council’s recommendations. Mr. Brooke expressed his delight and was very impressed with how well the representatives articulated their council’s views.
As a result of this meeting and the councils’ input, we will be ordering new music trolleys to make it easier to transport musical instruments to classrooms.
The Play Leaders Council reported that they have received training from a sports coach and are now leading games and activities on the playground for the other children, which they thoroughly enjoy.
The Reading Council spoke positively about their trip to Simply Books and how they are supporting teachers and students with book choices in the library and for classroom reading.
The Wellbeing Council requested to lead the Remembrance Day Assembly, which they did with fantastic success. This builds on their previous assemblies on autism and dyslexia.
The Anti-Bullying Council shared their commitment to enhancing children’s understanding of what bullying entails. This proposal was approved, and they will soon be leading workshops for all classes on RON (Repeated on Purpose Negative) behaviour and setting an anti-bullying poster competition.
We couldn't be prouder of the children who contributed to our first Parliament meeting and all their fellow council members!
