Support for Student Teachers

We train a number of student teachers each year, including students from the Primary Alliance for Learning, Manchester Metropolitan University, Sheffield Hallam and Edge Hill University. Students at Alexandra Park have many opportunities to observe quality first teaching, to engage in high quality CPD and to work alongside experienced mentors during their teaching practice. Our school is an Advanced Partnership School with Manchester Metropolitan University which means that we have been assessed as providing additional support and training opportunities which exceed the student entitlement for students that are placed with us. Mr Brooke is on the SCITT Partnership Board for Alliance for Learning so that we can help to develop the best practice for student teachers, with several of our teaching staff providing additional training for student teachers on behaviour for learning, spelling and grammar, reading and phonics.
